A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height, consisting of a silver Confederate plumed hat with red buckle on a dark blue triangle, point up, between in base two crossed green and silver branches of laurel and at top a tripartite red scroll inscribed "MANNING THE VICTORY" in silver letters overall and interlaced with the scroll, two diagonally crossed silver swords with red grips.
Dark blue and scarlet are the colors traditionally associated with Personnel units. Red, white and blue are our national colors. The blue triangle simulates a mountain alluding to the unit's heritage and affiliation with the 80th Division (Training). Red is symbolic of courage and zeal. White/silver suggests honesty and integrity and blue denotes devotion to duty. The crossed swords imply military strength and preparedness. The Confederate hat signifies Mosby's Rangers, the unit's heritage, and its current assignment to the 310th Theater Army Area Command, while the laurel denotes achievement and honor.
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 4 September 1992.
